After the doctors appointment last week I have been trying to pump once a day. The PA suggested that I start pumping just in case we feel he is not getting enough in a feeding. Some people wait a few weeks to start pumping, but I decided to start now. I pump after I feed him in the morning and usually get 5 ounces or more. There is definitely a surplus of milk so I decided to start freezing some. I have the Lansinoh freezer bags which I really like. I like that they have the measurements on the side and a place to write the information about the milk. After freezing a few bags I was trying to figure out what to do about organizing the milk in the freezer. I did not want the bags all over the place I would not be able to keep track of the oldest one.
After some thought and research on Pinterest I found a solution. I could get lost on that site, there are so many great ideas on there! I found a project that would work perfectly for my freezer. I had all the supplies I needed too.
- Gift bag - I would say this is a medium size - I have seen smaller. I held the freezer bag up the the bottom of the bag to make sure it would fit and it did.
- Scissors
- Card Stock
Step 2: I cut a piece of card stock for both sides - I thought if I did both sides it would provide more support. I also saw that it was mentioned on one of the blogs I read this on. All Done!
Well you still have to make room in your freezer for this. I checked after I made it and I will have to cut the handles off and move some things around, but it will fit in there soon. I know it seems obvious to take from the bottom, but I was afraid someone would be here without us and may take from the top not knowing. ***************
