Vote Jeff Flake for U.S. Senate!
Here is a funny story... the other day my mom and I were gonna take a class to help work at the polls for the election.  I've worked at them before but never got to take the class. I figured I might as well.  This guy misdirected us to the wrong building and my mom and I didn't realize the mistake till we were half way through the training.  The training was to be a poll observer instead.  We were not sure what to do but decided to stay so we could get licensed to be one.  After we finished the training we were told we had to take a test.  Uhhhh....oh.  It was a four page test and I started to remember my school days where I wished I had taken notes.  Well, I passed!  I'm now a licensed poll observer.  Ha ha.  It ended up being a fantastic day and we got to talk to so many like minded conservatives.  Not a democrat in the house.  A little bit like heaven to me.  :D

Getting my signs to put out
I got to meet with Jeff Flake running for U.S.  Senate.  He talked about some things he stood for but also went into detail when he was really questioned on it.  He didn't talk in circles like most politicians  (and evolutionists).  I really appreciated that.  After talking with him and hanging out with some others we had a pizza party!  I ended up finding out about possibly joining a conservative women's club.  Not sure at all where I'd find the time in my over busy day to go to their meetings but I would like to pop in every now and then.  :D  Was it a surprise to me that I was the youngest person there (by a long shot)?  Noooo....

Would I love to fire Obama?  That's a big F. A. T YES!!!!!  Please let it be so and VOTE!  You can't complain about who is in office if you don't vote.  People in some other countries wish to God they could vote for their leader.  We have it good here in America.  Well, be careful who you vote for.  If you are unsure about it then please go over the the local video store or to Amazon.com and rent Obama 2016.  You would be shocked what we're in for if Obama is reelected.  Let's fire him!

My Meeting with a Neurologist

To contact us Click HERE

I'm so grateful I finally got to meet with a head specialist today. No more doctors just blowing me off telling me its all in my head (no pun intended).  The Neurologist knew exactly what was causing my pain.  He said its Occipital Neuralgia.  Treatment is medication for the nerves in my head, laying on a heating pad at night, and rest.  If that doesn't work I'll get a nerve block. Basically a shot given in my head several times. Ohhhhh, I hate even thinking about that. I'm supposed to rest yet I lay here at 2am with no way to lay my head that doesn't cause pain. I can't lay on my face so I'm just dealing with it. Ohhhh man.... just want the pain to be gone. I still have questions about my joint pain and thyroid issues but I need to just take one issue at a time. I want to be my old self again and active. These darn medicines make me tired all the time.

Anyway,  the good news is we are so excited for CHRISTmas!  Are you?  Don't forget to reach out to someone who is alone for the holidays. We picked someone this year who is about to get some goodies and a present. They have no family anywhere and I'll bet it'll bring cheer!

Pictures: we borrow pets from our neighbors to cuddle and then send back at the end of the day. Tee hee.

Growing Babies and Nerve Blocks

Juliet is all over the place. She started crawling just before 7 months and now that she is 7 months she's standing. That is wild! I have to lower her crib mattress today because she pulls herself up in her crib (like in pic).  I usually wake up each morning to her squeals and giggles while she's looking at me. She's such a sunshine. Anyhow, she's getting a saucer for Christmas.  Thank goodness!

Thank you so much for all your notes of well wishes!  My head hurts nonstop now and I just try to get used to it. It gets worse at night. I guess maybe I do need to get that nerve block done in my head but I'm just chicken about it. I met a lady today that has kind of the same issue and had it done too. She had it done several times and said it hurts. However,  it'll help. Blah ..... I don't really want to think about it.

Soft Hearts for Christ

Wow, we had a fantastic Christmas and I so hope you had one too! We always see Charles' family on Christmas Eve and my family on Christmas day. It works out awesome. Ryan was the star in the play at church and.... omgosh.... he was AMAZING. I always knew he was a good actor at home but he blew us away on the stage. They are putting together a DVD for me so I will show you when I get the chance.

We have this week off from homeschooling and I am so happy for the break. So, so happy. Its no piece of cake having to homeschool.  Along with homeschooling we have our daily Bible studies and sometimes I wonder if anything is getting through to them. However, at church I've been noticing how much they go to pray at the alter in response to the message.  Then my heart is glad. I know kids can be self conscious and tend to worry who is watching them. Picture shows Ashley (in pink) praying with other girls. The other picture is of Caleb. Then one of Chaz and Kyle (two little guys in blue) at the alter. So sweet!

Juliet is keeping me up most of the night.  The reason she has such bad sleeping habits is because her crib is in my room. I don't let her fuss because Charles has to get up early for work. Soooo now she is a super light sleeper. LOL.  I love that little stinker even though I'm more tired because of her. She is so worth it.

Flu and Holiday Weekend

Awwww.... nothing like the holidays, pretty lights, presents, AND the flu. Phooey.  This has been medicine central as I have alllll of my medicines along with giving all the kids medicine for their fevers. It never gets all the kids at the same time. Its more like a domino effect.  Thankfully its been super relaxing the last few days and we've just had time to kill and heal.  Juliet so far has escaped any sickness and I pray it stays that way!  ;)

I lost four chickens and one bunny so far this winter. The kids are pretty sad about it. We are animal lovers and take it hard when even a silly chicken dies.  Even though we had a heating lamp it was still too cold for them. Thankfully Chickenbutt (name of our oldest egg laying hen) is big enough to create her own warmth.  We went ahead and moved our remaining bunnies and chickens inside. It also means we have to light more candles.  These are not good smelling animals.  Have you ever heard of a fragrance called Le Stablês?  Just kidding.

Anyway, we are looking forward to the New Year. A little hesitant because of the president that is remaining but God is still on the throne!

Temple Square for Christmas Lights

To contact us Click HERE
Since I was a girl we've been visiting Temple Square at Christmastime to see the lights. Since Temple Square has trippled their size over the last ten years or so, it is even a more amazing display than it once was. And since it's free, it is really a perfect activity.

I was intent on taking the train in, just like last year, because last year James LOVED it. On the train platform Juliet was snuggled and not making a peep in her stroller. I glanced in to check on her and her hat and inched down over her eyes. There she sat, in the semidarkness, happy as can be. James, E and I were laughing so much at this sweet content snuggle bun.
E wasn't super excited about taking the train, it is kind of a hassle. I don't know, do you think James liked it?
Oh my, he LOVED it.
Once arriving we went over to the Macy windows. They were neat, but not as impressive as I remember the ZCMI windows from when I was a child. They just looked so small. Or is that just because when you are small, everything is huge?
The huge candy ornaments spun and were beautiful.
My family, peeking in at the candy display.
Then we wandered over to Temple Square and got there right at 5:00, when the lights turn on. Oh it is beautiful.
The sky steadily darkened and I was even brave enough to hand my iPhone to a stranger in hopes of a family photo. Success!
The entire time it rained. Not pouring, just a steady mist. It made it quite chilly but also made for wet paths, and wet paths equals reflections. So stunning.
James, while he loved the Christmas lights, really was there to see one thing, the fountains.
I, on the other hand, was completely obsessed with the lights.
Fountains fountains and more fountains. And notice those reflections!
This particular tree is always my favorite. Just amazing. And the added wet paths just made it more magical.
Ahhh, so simply stunning.
After we'd finished the Temple Square circuit we walked over to the new amazing City Creek Mall for dinner. James, our fountain loving boy, was hungry. And after E and I told him for the third time to not put his hand in the fountain, he flipped. We put him in the stroller and carried Juliet and the entire time he was buckled in, it was like we had the Tasmanian Devil with us. Oh my word.

The stroller shook. The howls echoed. We decided to forgo the hour long wait in the food court (hour long for fast food?!) and high tailed it out of there (after waiting twenty minutes in the rain for the train, maybe E was right after all...). We stopped for burgers on the way home and our little devil turned back into a sweet angel. Christmas miracles do exist.
But know you know why there are no photos from the City Creek Mall. Three year olds are crazy.

Celebrating Ashley's 5th Birthday Party with Just Us Girls

To contact us Click HERE
We had to celebrate Ashley's birthday late but for this birthday it was just my mom, dad, Ivy, Ashley, and I.  My dad just met us for dinner and then us girls headed over to Chuck E Cheese.

My dad is so good at winning these things and he got one of the first try.  Sheesh!  Isn't it funny though how the people tuck everything in so tight?  We were lucky to get that one because after that he couldn't get a second one.  I mean, nothing budged.  I seriously need to own one of those machines.

It is really, really nice to spend time with my parents.  I always wonder what life is gonna be like when all my kids grow up and I'm still here without them.  Are they gonna move far away?  Are they gonna want to bring their children here?  Charles and I have already planned out making one of the rooms a guest room and another one a nursery....just in case anyone will bring the kids by.  I know that's really thinking ahead but I love family around me so much.  It was even a little bit hard going to Chuck E. Cheese without the rest of my family.  We still had fun but I can't help feeling like that.  I think the hard part about being a grandparent would be knowing that you aren't the decision maker on raising the kids anymore.  Your job is done and however your kids decide to raise their kids, that's their choice.

Have you ever been to Chuck E Cheese during the school year on a week night?  It's so empty AND wonderful!!!  We had the whole place to ourselves.  Usually the place with all it's noise can get really crazy but it was much more enjoyable with not having the over crowding.

Chuckie completely caught me off guard.  I turned around, saw him, and almost fell over.  Sheesh.  Ha ha.

I think the girls cared more about winning tokens then anything.  Ashley was excited about her winnings!  She still carries them around everywhere.  She's so polite though so when we got home and the kids wanted to try out her things she said yes.  I told her to be careful because they break easy.  She shares everything.  Her toys, candy...  The wonderful thing about having several kids, they learn to share so much easier. :)

Happy birthday my sweet princess.  My 5th child turned 5.  You have been so easy to raise thus far and you always have such a sweet spirit.  You even skipped the terrible twos.... I need more of you.  Heh heh.

After Chuck E Cheese we headed to McDonalds so we could have coffee with the cake.  Boy, my mom is a night owl and we only left at 11pm because they were closing.  LOL.  I got my night owlness from my mom.

So you know how I'm on a diet?  Seriously, I love my diet.  I basically eat only meat and vegetables.  I allow myself only 25 carbs a day MAX.  That's usually just from my milk and coffee creamer.  I ate two tiny bites of my cake.  Heh heh..... so proud.  Seriously though, we went to Denny's, Chuck E Cheese, then McDonalds and I still stayed within my diet.  I'm so proud.  Pat on the back, pat on the back.    :D

Laundry Love and Baby Steps

My mom has been washing a lot of my laundry since I haven't been feeling well. One of the pictures shows my dad carrying my boys pants to his house to be washed.  Amazing!  That is such a blessing. At church our pastor prayed for me and I've really noticed an improvement.  I still get tired quick but I'm not in as much pain and my thyroid seems to have improved. It doesn't feel swollen.

I've gotten behind greatly on the house because its harder to keep up with less energy. I have to remind myself over and over (and over and over) that its about raising my kids.  Its not about a perfect house (its never perfect anyway) . Oh, the battles in my mind are constant and tiring.  I guess if I'm gonna be dealing with this stuff I'm gonna have to simplify my house even more to keep up.

The kids have been so cute. Juliet is barely starting to crawl. She talks.to her dad every morning while he's getting ready for work. They have their own conversations going and she gets so excited.  Yesterday she leaned over to give me a kiss.  Oh man, I'm the luckiest lady on the planet!
